Despite Injuries the Broncos Stun #11 Utah

Even though both teams entered the contest being in the MCLA Top 25 both teams were not equal.  One had announced intent on going NCAA Division I, the other still infantile in MCLA prowess.  One had a coaching staff hardened with championship rings, the other had two coaches and a camera guy.  Despite whatever mismatch may have been conceived by on lookers it didn't matter to the ones on the field.  The Broncos went down early in the game, but stayed hot on the heels of the Utes.  Senior Captain and Face Off Specialist Quinn Mendiola went down early in the first half after showing commanding performance at the X.  The Broncos were forced to throw everyone at Utah and found decent success in the young freshman.  The Broncos never gave up and took a two goal lead going into halftime.  Utah would respond with increased vigor and would hold the Broncos score less in the 3rd quarter and recapture the lead.  The Broncos stayed true to the game plan and chipped away at the lead, and in the final minutes of the game Junior Alex Wilson sent a shot home from way outside to take the lead.  Utah was able to retain possession and call a timeout to work out a final play which ended up ringing off the pipe to another Utah player who shot and was saved by Freshman goaltender Carson Bungay.  The Broncos won the contest 11 - 10.
